Chaserrr - August Burns Red - Thirty And Seven

Now this guy Chaserrr can really play the drums. He is actually rather famous on youtube if you do a quick search for him. He has covered some really popular songs over the past few years. The song I posted is a fairly new drum cover of him. The old stuff he covered if just as good tho. Chaserrr really has a lot of talent with the drums and is amazingly hardcore! He is worth checking out, even if your not into his genres of music. Expand your musical horizons and listen to Chaserrr a bit.

Leona Lewis - Run

Ok, so one of my favorite bands is Snow Patrol. One of my favorite songs Snow Patrol has is Run. Typically, I am not a fan of covers; however, this is a really great representation of this song. Leona Lewis really performed well on this cover of run. Lewis has an amazing voice, but what sets he apart from many other singers is the ability to know "how much" to sing. This song has a lot of movements vocally, but Lewis does a great job in not over singing. Great control of her voice, great pitch, not to mention the amazing falsettos she can pull off flawlessly. Even the ever-popular music critic Simon Cowell stated, “I’m so proud of all Leona’s achievements. I’ve got to say that was absolutely incredible, seriously incredible.” Obviously this is an amazing song by an amazing artist.

As Cities Burn - "The Widow" and "This Is It, This Is It"

These songs I am not going to write much about. Listening to the lyrics and melodies molded together gave me the compulsion of posting these videos with lyrics. As Cities Burn was a Christian band from Mandeville, Louisiana whom recently "broke up" on July 15th 2009. Amazing live shows with very passionate guys with intense emotion in the music. ACB was certainly a Hardcore set of guys, with there Hardcore music living on forever.

Lyrics for The Widow by As Cities Burn:

Dead man, were you ever alive?
Or was I just a seed buried deep inside
Some woman you wed
Right before you crawled out of her bed and crept down the hall?
Did you think of me?
Did you even for a second hesitate in the doorway?
It's just something that I'd like to know
Though I'd still love you if told me
That you just walked away

My God, what a world you love
Where men bury their sons
And without thought just walk away

And my mother's heart breaks
Like the water inside of her
[x2]

Dead man, is it being high that makes you alive?
It makes you leave behind three boys and a wife in '89
As the track marks inched their way up your arm
My mother taught my brothers and I not to call you daddy
But to call you father

But I believe there is something here to be learned of grace
'Cause I can't help but love you
No I can't help but love you
Even with a heart that breaks
Like the promises that you made
Like the promises that you made
The promises that you made
'Cause I still love you

My God, what a world you love

Lyrics for This Is It, This Is It by As Cities Burn:

focus on the horizon, men
should you grow seasick
but don't expect silhouettes
of rescuer ships coming

coming, they aren't coming for us

we've got prices on our heads
and millstones around our necks
we try to live forgiven but they won't let us forget
the bodies we're still in
the bodies that we still war against

son, this is it, this is it
you're gonna sink for your sins
unless grace be the wind
son, this is it, this is it
we're all sinking for our sins
unless grace be the wind

forget about being honest
forget about being passionate
wear that smile like you feel it
even when you don't
forget about being honest
forget about being passionate
i think they forgot about Jesus
seeking us out

in the bodies we're still in
the bodies we still war

son, this is it, this is it
you're gonna sink for your sins
unless grace be the wind
son, this is it, this is it
we're all sinking for our sins
unless grace be the wind
to fill our sails

underOATH - Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear

underOATH, normally a screamo band, has come out with an amazing new single. This song is titled "Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear" and is off the album "Lost In The Sound Of Separation." The song is far from being labeled "typical screamo" music, as it's rather mellow in the start with a powerful build. Personally, being a musician, I am high on dynamics in music. Without dynamics, a band is bland and virtually musically talentless, as no dynamics means you missed the whole concept of a structured song. underOATH has mastered the art of dynamics and really impressed me with this song. "Too Bright To See Too Loud To Hear" is very inspiring musically with the well thought-out arrangements and builds. Vocally this song shows extreme maturity for a screamo band. The vocals prove underOATH packs a powerful range and can create and innovate in the music world much further. The band does not seem to be in a creative "rut" like a lot of bands fall into. underOATH is for sure HARDCORE.

The video I am embedding here is in HD. Also the video is a homemade and not the studio version. I thought this video was kinda cool and tells a good story to complement the song.

J Remy - Cut Me

I normally wouldn't post the same person twice in a row, however, J Remy is just to amazing. I'm glad he is never afraid of offending people. This guy will speak of things most Christians wouldn't attempt to bring up in conversations. This song Cut Me is just great, it makes you feel different while listening to the lyrics. Listen and if you can see the boldness and or the strength in his music, let me know.

J Remy - Patience (Live Version)

This is one of my good friends in real life. I have known J Remy for a while now and I love his music. He is a real positive person in life. He does not try to fool or trick people into believing he is someone else. He has always been a awesome guy making the music he loves.

If you was to examine the lyrics of any of J Remy's music, you will come across some wordings that will shake you, as the lyrics push the boundaries of "church people." J Remy's lyrics are not held back at all, he says what's on his mind and heart no matter what people think. J Remy being a Christian, people tend to judge him before fully listening and comprehending his music. Everyone likes to try to find something to talk about it seems... Well J Remy is hardcore, and expect some big things soon! He has a new full length coming out soon.

Here is a pro video of J Remy - You Don't Know Me it's an amazing video and song. It won some awards also.

Piano Man - Billy Joel

Billy Joel has by far impacted a ton of musicians. I went to watch a few friends of mine play at Shuckers, a local bar in Hattiesburg, MS. Piano Man was one of the song played over the 3-4 hours I watched them. Since then Piano Man has been stuck in my head. Writing a song that can impact an individual enough to remember the melody and lyrics is a great task. Not many musicians and songwriters can accomplish the task of great writing. Billy Joel has blended the melody with lyrics and created a great song. "Piano Man" was ranked #421 in the 2004 List of Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. Having a song ranked so high is a complement and honor, but Billy Joel is for sure worthy of it. Piano Man is a hardcore song, wrote by a hardcore musician.
